- 1956 - No. 1 of the journal Morfologia Normala si Patologica (Normal and Pathologic Morphology), Medical Publishing House, Bucharest, appeared with "Uniunea Societatilor de Stiinte Medicale din Romania" (The Union of The Societies of Medical Sciences from Romania) and "Revista a Societatii de Morfologie Normala si Patologica" (Journal of The Society of Normal and Pathologic Morphology) as subtitles. 1964-1973 - Volumes I-X of Revue Roumaine d'Embryologie et de Cytologie [Rev Roum Embryol Cytol], Academy of Medical Sciences, Romanian Academy Publishing House, Bucharest, appeared. The journal contained two parts: Serie d'Embryologie and Serie de Cytologie 1974 - Volume XX of Revue Roumaine de Morphologie et de Physiologie [Rev Roum Morphol Physiol], ISSN 0377-4953 appeared through the fusion between Revue Roumaine de Morphologie et d'Embryologie, ISSN 0377-4945 and Revue Roumaine de Physiologie, ISSN 0035-399X. The papers were published in English, French and German. After one year, Rev Roum Morphol Physiol separated in two publications: Morphologie et Embryologie and Physiologie. 1975 - Volume XXI of Morphologie et Embryologie (Morphology and Embryology) [Morphol Embryol (Bucur)], ISSN 0377-5038 appeared with the following subtitles: "Revue Roumaine de Morphologie, d'Embryologie et de Physiologie" and "Romanian Journal of Morphology, Embryology and Physiology". The papers were published in English or French. 1990 - Volume XXXVI of Romanian Journal of Morphology and Embryology (Revue Roumaine de Morphologie et Embryologie) [Rom J Morphol Embryol (Rev Roum Morphol Embryol)], ISSN 1220-0522, Academy of Medical Sciences, Romanian Academy Publishing House, Bucharest appeared. Editors-in-chief were, in chronological order: Acad. V. D. Marza and Prof. Dr. P. G. Nicolescu. The papers were published in English or French. The journal was quarterly. 1998 - Rom J Morphol Embryol (Rev Roum Morphol Embryol) discontinued its existence with volume XLIV no. 3-4. Подв. 1, 2
